As used in ORS § 477.205 to 477.281, unless the context requires otherwise:

Terms Used In Oregon Statutes 477.205

  • District: means a forest protection district organized under ORS § 477. See Oregon Statutes 477.001
  • Forestland: means any woodland, brushland, timberland, grazing land or clearing that, during any time of the year, contains enough forest growth, slashing or vegetation to constitute, in the judgment of the forester, a fire hazard, regardless of how the land is zoned or taxed. See Oregon Statutes 477.001

(1) ‘Grazing land’ means forestland, within a forest protection district, that has been classified as Class 3, agricultural class, as provided by ORS § 526.305 to 526.370.

(2) ‘Timberland’ means forestland, within a forest protection district, that has not been classified as Class 3, agricultural class, under ORS § 526.305 to 526.370. [1965 c.253 § 56]
