Rhode Island General Laws 45-13-1.2. Aid withheld for failure to comply with state statutes

     

If any city or town fails to furnish information as defined in chapter 21 of Title 39 within seventy-five (75) days of June 22, 1987, then there shall be withheld from any state aid, determined to be due under the provisions of this chapter, an amount equal to twenty-five percent (25%) until the time that the information is furnished.

  • town: may be construed to include city; the words "town council" include city council; the words "town clerk" include city clerk; the words "ward clerk" include clerk of election district; the words "town treasurer" include city treasurer; and the words "town sergeant" include city sergeant.
