Terms Used In South Carolina Code 23-51-100
- Sale: means a transfer of title or possession, or both, exchange or barter, conditional or otherwise, in any manner, by any means, or by any agreement. See South Carolina Code 23-51-20
Nothing in this chapter may be construed to prohibit a person or entity from manufacturing or selling cigarettes that do not meet the requirements of § 23-51-30 if the cigarettes are or will be stamped for sale in another state or sold in North Carolina, or are packaged for sale outside the United States, and that person or entity has taken reasonable steps to ensure that the cigarettes will not be sold or offered for sale to persons located in this State.
