Terms Used In South Dakota Codified Laws 37-4A-3
- complaint: A written statement by the plaintiff stating the wrongs allegedly committed by the defendant.
- contract: A legal written agreement that becomes binding when signed.
- litigation: A case, controversy, or lawsuit. Participants (plaintiffs and defendants) in lawsuits are called litigants.
- State: the State of South Dakota. See
Any mediation or based on a complaint litigation to resolve a contract dispute shall apply the substantive contract law of the State of South Dakota.
