(a) Every penalty fixed in this title, unless otherwise provided for, shall be sued for and recovered in the name of the state by the district attorney general of the district in which the delinquency occurs, and shall be paid into the state treasury.

Under the Tennessee Code, punishments for crimes depend on the classification. In the case of this section:

Terms Used In Tennessee Code 56-1-802

  • Attorney: means the person designated and authorized by subscribers as the attorney-in-fact having authority to obligate them on reciprocal insurance contracts. See Tennessee Code 56-16-102

(b) Nonpayment of the penalties is a Class C misdemeanor.
