Terms Used In Tennessee Code 56-7-3602

  • Family leave insurance: means an insurance policy issued to an employer related to a benefit program provided to an employee to pay for a percentage or portion of the employee's income loss due to:
    (A) The birth or adoption of a child by the employee. See Tennessee Code 56-7-3603
  • State: when applied to the different parts of the United States, includes the District of Columbia and the several territories of the United States. See Tennessee Code 1-3-105

The purpose of this part is to create a new line of insurance, known as paid family leave insurance, under which an insurer licensed to engage in the business of life insurance or disability income insurance in this state may issue policies covering against risk related to paid family leave.
