Terms Used In Tennessee Code 8-30-404
- Commissioner: refers to the commissioner of human resources appointed under §. See Tennessee Code 8-30-103
- Department: refers to the department of human resources pursuant to §. See Tennessee Code 8-30-103
- Service: means service as a general employee, a teacher, a state police officer, a wildlife officer, a firefighter, a police officer, a state judge, a county judge, an attorney general, a commissioner or a county official which is paid for by an employer, and also includes service for which a former member of the general assembly is entitled to under former §. See Tennessee Code 8-34-101
- State: means the state of Tennessee. See Tennessee Code 8-34-101
Nothing in this chapter shall be construed to prevent the commissioner, in the commissioner’s discretion, from permitting any department in state service from complying with any condition or limitation included in, or affecting any grant from, the federal government or other public or private source.
