Terms Used In Texas Family Code 261.409
- Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.

The board of the Texas Juvenile Justice Department by rule shall adopt standards for:
(1) the investigation under § 261.401 of suspected child abuse, neglect, or exploitation in a facility under the jurisdiction of the Texas Juvenile Justice Department; and
(2) compiling information on those investigations.
