Terms Used In Texas Finance Code 66.402

  • Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
  • Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation: A government corporation that insures the deposits of all national and state banks that are members of the Federal Reserve System. Source: OCC
  • Liabilities: The aggregate of all debts and other legal obligations of a particular person or legal entity.

If the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation pays the insured deposit liabilities of an association that has been closed or is being liquidated under this chapter, regardless of whether the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation has become receiver or liquidating agent, the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation is subrogated, to the extent of the payment, to all rights that the owners of the savings accounts or deposits have against the association.
