(a) Notwithstanding any other law, a joint municipal court of record created under § 30.01546 is presided over by a municipal judge or alternate municipal judge who is appointed by a majority vote of each of the governing bodies of the contracting municipalities for a two-year term.
(b) The judge of a joint municipal court of record may be removed from office as provided by § 30.000085 by the governing bodies of the contracting municipalities at any time for incompetency, misconduct, malfeasance, or inability to perform the tasks of the office.
