(a) An eligible member may establish credit under § 853.501 by filing written application therefor with the retirement system, accompanied by satisfactory evidence of the member’s military service.
(b) An eligible member seeking military service credit under § 853.502 must file with the retirement system a written application for the credit, together with satisfactory evidence of the member’s military service.
Terms Used In Texas Government Code 853.504
- Evidence: Information presented in testimony or in documents that is used to persuade the fact finder (judge or jury) to decide the case for one side or the other.
- Person: includes corporation, organization, government or governmental subdivision or agency, business trust, estate, trust, partnership, association, and any other legal entity. See Texas Government Code 311.005
- Written: includes any representation of words, letters, symbols, or figures. See Texas Government Code 311.005
(c) No person may obtain credit under this subchapter for more than 60 months of military service.
