Terms Used In Texas Government Code Chapter 1509 > Subchapter A - Bonds for Facilities to Be Sold or Leased to Public or Private Entities

  • Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
  • Lease: A contract transferring the use of property or occupancy of land, space, structures, or equipment in consideration of a payment (e.g., rent). Source: OCC
  • Population: means the population shown by the most recent federal decennial census. See Texas Government Code 311.005
  • Property: means real and personal property. See Texas Government Code 311.005
