- Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
The authority of a corporation may not preempt the police powers of any sponsoring entity or any other laws regulating or empowering sponsoring entities to regulate the activities of the corporation.
