Terms Used In Texas Local Government Code 501.009
- Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
- Property: means real and personal property. See Texas Government Code 311.005
This subtitle does not deprive this state or a governmental subdivision of this state of its police powers over a corporation‘s property and does not impair any police power over the property that is otherwise provided by law to any official or agency of this state or its governmental subdivisions.
