  • Devise: To gift property by will.
  • Gift: A voluntary transfer or conveyance of property without consideration, or for less than full and adequate consideration based on fair market value.
  • Lease: A contract transferring the use of property or occupancy of land, space, structures, or equipment in consideration of a payment (e.g., rent). Source: OCC
  • Property: means real and personal property. See Texas Government Code 311.005

The district may acquire by gift, grant, devise, purchase, lease, or the exercise of the power of eminent domain any land, easement, right-of-way, or other property interest necessary to carry out the powers and duties under this chapter.
