Terms Used In Texas Special District Local Laws Code 21.212

  • Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.

A governmental entity having jurisdiction over a right-of-way along and across a public state or county road or highway may:
(1) designate the placement of district facilities located on the right-of-way; and
(2) require the relocation of district facilities to accommodate widening or changing traffic lanes.
