(a) A property owner against whom an assessment is imposed may appeal the assessment to a district court in the county in which the property is located in the manner provided for the appeal of a contested case under Chapter 2001, Government Code.
(b) The owner must file the notice of appeal with the court not later than the 30th day after the date the board decision becomes final.

Terms Used In Texas Special District Local Laws Code 3001.214

  • Appeal: A request made after a trial, asking another court (usually the court of appeals) to decide whether the trial was conducted properly. To make such a request is "to appeal" or "to take an appeal." One who appeals is called the appellant.
  • Property: means real and personal property. See Texas Government Code 311.005
  • Trial: A hearing that takes place when the defendant pleads "not guilty" and witnesses are required to come to court to give evidence.

(c) The court shall review the appeal by trial de novo.
