As used in this chapter:

“Disposable earnings” means the part of an employee’s earnings remaining after the deduction of all amounts required by law to be withheld. |
Terms Used In Utah Code 53B-15-101
- Board: means the Utah Board of Higher Education described in Section 53B-1-402. See Utah Code 53B-1-101.5
- City: includes , depending on population, a metro township as defined in Section 10-3c-102. See Utah Code 68-3-12.5
- Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
- State: when applied to the different parts of the United States, includes a state, district, or territory of the United States. See Utah Code 68-3-12.5
- Town: includes , depending on population, a metro township as defined in Section 10-3c-102. See Utah Code 68-3-12.5

“Earnings” or “earnings from personal services” means compensation paid or payable for personal services, whether designated as wages, salary, commission, bonus, or otherwise, and includes periodic payments under a pension or retirement program. |

“Public employee” means any employee, officer, or servant of the state of Utah, or any office, department, agency, authority, commission, board, institution, hospital, college, university, or other instrumentality of the state, or of any county, city, town, school district, special improvement or taxing district, or any other political subdivision or public corporation of or within the state. |
