(1) |
There is created the Utah Population Committee composed of the following members:
Terms Used In Utah Code 63C-20-103- committee: means the Utah Population Committee created by this chapter. See Utah Code 63C-20-102
- State: when applied to the different parts of the United States, includes a state, district, or territory of the United States. See Utah Code 68-3-12.5
(a) |
the director of the Kem C. Gardner Policy Institute at the University of Utah or the director’s designee; |
(b) |
the director of the Population Research Laboratory at Utah State University or the director’s designee; |
(c) |
the state planning coordinator appointed under Section 63J-4-401; |
(d) |
the director of the Workforce Research and Analysis Division within the Department of Workforce Services or the director’s designee; |
(e) |
the director of the Office of Vital Records and Statistics or the director’s designee; |
(f) |
the state superintendent of public instruction or the superintendent’s designee; |
(g) |
the chair of the State Tax Commission or the chair’s designee; |
(h) |
the legislative fiscal analyst or the legislative fiscal analyst’s designee; |
(i) |
the commissioner of higher education or the commissioner’s designee; and |
(j) |
any additional member appointed under Subsection (2). |

(2) |
(a) |
By a majority vote of the members of the committee, the committee may appoint one or more additional members to serve on the committee at the pleasure of the committee. |
(b) |
The committee shall ensure that each additional member appointed under Subsection (2)(a) is a data provider or a representative of a data provider. |

(3) |
The director of the Kem C. Gardner Policy Institute or the director’s designee described in Subsection (1)(a) is the chair of the committee. |
