- State: when applied to the different parts of the United States, includes a state, district, or territory of the United States. See Utah Code 68-3-12.5
When a state is a party and costs are awarded against it, the costs shall be paid out of the state treasury. The auditor shall draw a warrant on the General Fund for payment.
