Terms Used In Vermont Statutes Title 16 Sec. 260

  • Person: shall include any natural person, corporation, municipality, the State of Vermont or any department, agency, or subdivision of the State, and any partnership, unincorporated association, or other legal entity. See
  • School board: means the board of school directors of a school district or its equivalent in any independent school. See
  • Unsupervised: means not in the presence of a responsible adult in the employ of or under the direction of the independent school or school district. See

§ 260. School board policies

Each school board shall adopt a policy on supervision of volunteers and work study students. Policies shall require that superintendents, headmasters of recognized or approved independent schools, and their contractors check the names and birth dates of any work study students with the Vermont Internet Sex Offender Registry prior to allowing work study students unsupervised contact with schoolchildren.
