An employer may appeal any adverse decision by the department related to voluntary plans. An employee may appeal any adverse decision by an employer or the employer’s agent related to voluntary plans. Appeals are subject to RCW 50A.50.010.

- Appeal: A request made after a trial, asking another court (usually the court of appeals) to decide whether the trial was conducted properly. To make such a request is "to appeal" or "to take an appeal." One who appeals is called the appellant.
