Terms Used In Wisconsin Statutes 322.018

  • Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
  • This code: means this chapter. See Wisconsin Statutes 322.001

Subject to s. 322.017, general courts-martial have jurisdiction to try persons subject to this code for any offense made punishable by this code, and may, under limitations as the governor may prescribe, adjudge any punishment not forbidden by this code.
