Terms Used In Wisconsin Statutes 786.16

  • Minor: means a person who has not attained the age of 18 years, except that for purposes of investigating or prosecuting a person who is alleged to have violated a state or federal criminal law or any civil law or municipal ordinance, "minor" does not include a person who has attained the age of 17 years.   • Property: includes real and personal property. See Wisconsin Statutes 990.01

No sale of the real estate of any minor or individual adjudicated incompetent shall give to the minor or individual any other or greater interest or estate in the proceeds of such sale than the minor or individual had in the estate so sold; but the said proceeds shall be deemed real estate of the same nature as the property sold.
