Terms Used In Arizona Laws > Title 38 > Chapter 2.1 - Continuity of State and Local Government

  • Attack: means any action or series of actions taken by an enemy of the United States resulting in substantial damage or injury to persons or property in this state whether through sabotage, bombs, missiles, shellfire or atomic, radiological, chemical, bacteriological, biological or other means.   • Court: means the superior court of this state. See Arizona Laws 10-140
  • Derivative proceeding: means a civil suit in the right of a domestic corporation or, to the extent provided in section 10-747, in the right of a foreign corporation. See Arizona Laws 10-740
  • Evidence: Information presented in testimony or in documents that is used to persuade the fact finder (judge or jury) to decide the case for one side or the other.
  • including: means not limited to and is not a term of exclusion. See Arizona Laws 1-215
  • Legislating body: means any branch of government of this state or of any political subdivision of this state which has the constitutional authority to enact laws, resolutions or ordinances. See Arizona Laws 38-382
  • Person: includes an individual and entity. See Arizona Laws 10-140
  • Political subdivision: means a county, city or town. See Arizona Laws 38-382
  • Proceeding: includes a civil suit and a criminal, administrative and investigatory action. See Arizona Laws 10-140
  • Quorum: The number of legislators that must be present to do business.
