Terms Used In New Jersey Statutes 2A:162-14

  • Bail: Security given for the release of a criminal defendant or witness from legal custody (usually in the form of money) to secure his/her appearance on the day and time appointed.
2. The procedure to determine the sufficiency of bail shall be governed by rules adopted by the Supreme Court.
