Terms Used In New Jersey Statutes 4:6-12

  • person: includes corporations, companies, associations, societies, firms, partnerships and joint stock companies as well as individuals, unless restricted by the context to an individual as distinguished from a corporate entity or specifically restricted to one or some of the above enumerated synonyms and, when used to designate the owner of property which may be the subject of an offense, includes this State, the United States, any other State of the United States as defined infra and any foreign country or government lawfully owning or possessing property within this State. No person shall have or keep in his possession or in an apiary, a colony of bees infested by the diseases known as American foulbrood or European foulbrood or by any other disease which is contagious or infectious in its nature and injurious to honey bees in their egg, larvae, pupal or adult stages, and a person who shall have or keep in his possession any colony of bees so infested, after notice of the existence of the disease given as provided in sections 4:6-7 to 4:6-9 of this Title, shall be liable to a penalty of $200.00.
