Connecticut General Statutes 31-375 – Citation for violation
(a) If, upon inspection or investigation, the commissioner or his authorized representative believes that an employer has violated any provision of sections 31-369 and 31-370, any standard promulgated pursuant to § 31-372 or any regulations adopted pursuant to this chapter, he shall, with reasonable promptness, issue a citation to the employer. Each citation shall be in writing and shall describe with particularity the nature of the violation, including a reference to the provision of this chapter or the standard, regulation or order alleged to have been violated. The citation shall fix a reasonable time for the abatement of the violation.

- Commissioner: means the Labor Commissioner or his designated agent. See Connecticut General Statutes 31-367
- Employer: means the state and any political subdivision thereof. See Connecticut General Statutes 31-367
(b) Each citation issued under this section or a copy or copies thereof shall be prominently posted as prescribed in regulations issued by the commissioner at or near each place a violation referred to in the citation occurred.
(c) No citation may be issued under this section after the expiration of six months following the occurrence of any violation.
