(1) In accordance with Florida Statutes § 403.9424, local governments may hold informational meetings to assist in explaining the project plans and impacts, in order to better solicit comments from the public in their jurisdiction about the project.

  • Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
    (2) Local governments are responsible for the publication of notice about these meetings, but the cost of such a notice is an authorized expense under the reimbursement criteria of Fl. Admin. Code R. 62-807.660
    (3) Any local government intending to conduct an informational public meeting pursuant to Florida Statutes § 403.94243, may coordinate with the Department and the applicant in the scheduling of that meeting, to assure availability of the Department and the applicant, if so desired.
    (4) The format of the meeting is at the discretion of the local government.
