Terms Used In Iowa Code 573A.6

  • Appeal: A request made after a trial, asking another court (usually the court of appeals) to decide whether the trial was conducted properly. To make such a request is "to appeal" or "to take an appeal." One who appeals is called the appellant.
573A.6 Appeal.
Any party aggrieved by the findings and judgment of the district court may appeal to the supreme court as in other cases and the case shall be given preference over other cases in the supreme court.
