  • Lease: A contract transferring the use of property or occupancy of land, space, structures, or equipment in consideration of a payment (e.g., rent). Source: OCC

The lessor is bound:

(1)  To deliver the thing to the lessee;

(2)  To maintain the thing in a condition suitable for the purpose of which it was leased; and

(3)  To protect the lessee’s peaceful possession for the duration of the lease.
