Terms Used In Maine Revised Statutes Title 34-A Sec. 11222
- Amendment: A proposal to alter the text of a pending bill or other measure by striking out some of it, by inserting new language, or both. Before an amendment becomes part of the measure, thelegislature must agree to it.

- Conviction: A judgement of guilt against a criminal defendant.

- Domicile: means the place where a person has that person's established, fixed, permanent or ordinary dwelling place or legal residence to which, whenever the person is absent, the person has the intention of returning. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 34-A Sec. 11203
- Evidence: Information presented in testimony or in documents that is used to persuade the fact finder (judge or jury) to decide the case for one side or the other.
- FBI: means the Federal Bureau of Investigation. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 34-A Sec. 11203
- in writing: include printing and other modes of making legible words. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 1 Sec. 72
- Jurisdiction: means the Federal Government, including the military, this State or another state or tribe. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 34-A Sec. 11203
- Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
- Law enforcement agency having jurisdiction: means the chief of police in the municipality where a registrant or an offender expects to be or is domiciled. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 34-A Sec. 11203
- Lifetime registrant: means a person who has complied with the initial duty to register under this chapter as an adult convicted and sentenced or a juvenile convicted and sentenced as an adult of a:
