Section 10. Any person who knowingly violates sections four or five with specific intent to injure any person, or knowingly aids or participates in such violation with specific intent to injure any person, shall be punished by a fine not exceeding one hundred thousand dollars if a corporation, or, if any other person, by a fine not exceeding twenty-five thousand dollars or by imprisonment not exceeding one year, or both.

Terms Used In Massachusetts General Laws ch. 93 sec. 10

  • Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
  • Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.

The superior court shall have jurisdiction of actions brought under this section. Such actions shall be brought by the attorney general in the county in which said violation occurred in whole or in part.
