Terms Used In Michigan Laws 3.734

  • Agreement: means a written agreement between 1 or more law enforcement agencies in this state and at least 1 law enforcement agency in a physically adjacent state. See Michigan Laws 3.731
  • state: when applied to the different parts of the United States, shall be construed to extend to and include the District of Columbia and the several territories belonging to the United States; and the words "United States" shall be construed to include the district and territories. See Michigan Laws 8.3o
   A law enforcement officer from a physically adjacent state, who responds under the terms of an agreement entered into under this act, has the same authority and immunity from criminal and civil liability as a law enforcement or police officer of this state.
