Terms Used In Michigan Laws 774.1e

  • Trial: A hearing that takes place when the defendant pleads "not guilty" and witnesses are required to come to court to give evidence.
If the complainant refuses or neglects to pay the costs accrued under section 1d of this chapter, the court immediately may enter judgment against the complainant for the amount of those costs and issue execution on that judgment, in the same manner and with the same effect as in case of an execution issued by the circuit court on a judgment in a civil action. Money collected under this section shall be paid to the trial court and shall be applied to the payment of the costs for which the judgment was rendered.
