Terms Used In Missouri Laws 188.115

  • Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
  • person: may extend and be applied to bodies politic and corporate, and to partnerships and other unincorporated associations. See Missouri Laws 1.020

If any provision of sections 188.100 to 188.120 is found by a court of competent jurisdiction to be invalid or unconstitutional as applied to a specific person or class of persons, the provisions of sections 188.100 to 188.120 shall remain in full force and effect as to every other person or class of persons who is otherwise covered under these sections.
