70-20-504. Buyer’s right to rescind. (1) Unless otherwise agreed to by the buyer and the seller in writing, if a disclosure statement is provided by a seller to a buyer after the execution of a contract, the buyer shall have 3 days from the day the seller or the real estate agent or other authorized representative of the seller delivers the disclosure statement to rescind the contract by delivering a separately signed written statement of rescission to the seller or the real estate agent or other authorized representative of the seller.

  • Contract: A legal written agreement that becomes binding when signed.
  • Rescission: The cancellation of budget authority previously provided by Congress. The Impoundment Control Act of 1974 specifies that the President may propose to Congress that funds be rescinded. If both Houses have not approved a rescission proposal (by passing legislation) within 45 days of continuous session, any funds being withheld must be made available for obligation.
