The purpose of the present act N.M. Stat. Ann. § 61-16-3 to 61-16-17 is to regulate auction sales of jewelry in order to prevent fraud, deception and misrepresentation upon the buying public at such sales. It is to be construed liberally to effectuate this purpose.
