§ 971. Definitions. Whenever used in this article:

Terms Used In N.Y. Executive Law 971

  • Act: means the federal Job Training Partnership Act as enacted into law by Public Law 97-300. See N.Y. Executive Law 971
  • Council: means the committee, board or council established by the governor to meet the requirements of section one hundred twenty-two of the act for a state job training coordinating council. See N.Y. Executive Law 971
  • Partnership: A voluntary contract between two or more persons to pool some or all of their assets into a business, with the agreement that there will be a proportional sharing of profits and losses.
  • Plan: means the governor's coordination and special services plan as required by section one hundred twenty-one of the act. See N.Y. Executive Law 971
  • Public law: A public bill or joint resolution that has passed both chambers and been enacted into law. Public laws have general applicability nationwide.

1. "Act" means the federal Job Training Partnership Act as enacted into law by Public Law 97-300.

2. "Council" means the committee, board or council established by the governor to meet the requirements of section one hundred twenty-two of the act for a state job training coordinating council.

3. "Plan" means the governor's coordination and special services plan as required by section one hundred twenty-one of the act.

4. "Workforce preparation programs" means employment and training programs and human resource utilization activities including but not limited to job training and development, vocational education, public assistance employment, labor market information and employment services.

5. "Service delivery areas" means the areas designated by the governor in accordance with the provisions of section one hundred one of the act.
