Terms Used In North Carolina General Statutes 127A-88

  • state: when applied to the different parts of the United States, shall be construed to extend to and include the District of Columbia and the several territories, so called; and the words "United States" shall be construed to include the said district and territories and all dependencies. The Governor shall, when ordering out the unorganized militia, designate the number. The Governor may order them out either by calling for volunteers or by draft. The Governor may attach them to the several organizations of the North Carolina National Guard, the State defense militia or naval militia, as may be best for the service.
