  • state: when applied to the different parts of the United States, shall be construed to extend to and include the District of Columbia and the several territories, so called; and the words "United States" shall be construed to include the said district and territories and all dependencies. The Commissioner may make an examination of the affairs of any PHP as often as the Commissioner determines it to be necessary for the protection of the interests of the enrollees or the State but not less frequently than once every five years. The Commissioner shall notify DHHS prior to any examination of a PHP and shall provide DHHS with the results of an examination in accordance with N.C. Gen. Stat. § 58-93-5(e). Examinations shall otherwise be conducted under N.C. Gen. Stat. § 58-2-131 through N.C. Gen. Stat. § 58-2-134. (2018-49, s. 1(a); 2019-179, s. 9(c).)
