The national guard reserve is all individuals who are subject to service in the national guard and are not serving in the national guard of this state. Subject to the rules and regulations of the president, a national guard reserve must be maintained in this state which consists of organizations, officers, and enlisted members as the president may prescribe, and members of the reserve may be assigned as reserves to an active organization of the national guard.

Terms Used In North Dakota Code 37-08-01

  • National guard: means that part of the military forces of this state which is organized, equipped, and federally recognized under the provisions of the National Defense Act, as amended, of the United States as the "national guard, air national guard, of the United States and the state of North Dakota".   • Organization: includes a foreign or domestic association, business trust, corporation, enterprise, estate, joint venture, limited liability company, limited liability partnership, limited partnership, partnership, trust, or any legal or commercial entity. See North Dakota Code 1-01-49
  • State: when applied to the different parts of the United States, includes the District of Columbia and the territories. See North Dakota Code 1-01-49
