Terms Used In Florida Statutes 601.611

  • Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
If any of the provisions of s. 601.61 be held unconstitutional or invalid for any reason by any court of competent jurisdiction, or if any such court shall find or declare that no applicant shall be required to furnish the bond required by this act, then and in that event this entire act, including s. 5 thereof, shall be ineffective for any and all purposes, and the Laws of Florida in effect on August 1, 1961, which are amended or repealed by this act shall not be deemed to be amended or repealed by this act but shall instead remain in full force and effect, it being the intention of the Legislature that in that event this entire act shall be ineffective for any and all purposes and the Laws of Florida in effect on August 1, 1961, including chapter 61-45, which are amended or repealed by this act shall not be deemed to be amended or repealed by this act but shall instead remain in full force and effect.
