As a condition of receiving funds pursuant to this chapter, each county shall establish an emergency medical services fund as authorized by subdivision (a) of § 1797.98 of the Health and Safety Code. This section shall not be interpreted to require any county to impose the assessment authorized by § 1465 of the Penal Code.
