A plea or verdict of guilty or a finding of guilt by a court in a trial without a jury is deemed to be a conviction within the meaning of Sections 87405 and 88022 of this code, irrespective of a subsequent order under the provisions of § 1203.4 of the Penal Code allowing the withdrawal of the plea of guilty and entering a plea of not guilty, or setting aside the verdict of guilty, or dismissing the accusations or information. The record of the conviction of a sex offense as defined in Section 87010 or of a controlled substance offense defined in Section 87011 shall be sufficient proof of conviction of a crime involving moral turpitude for the purposes of Sections 87667 and 87732 relating to the dismissal of permanent employees.
