- Damages: Money paid by defendants to successful plaintiffs in civil cases to compensate the plaintiffs for their injuries.
An agent who has sustained actual damages as a result of an insurer’s violation of this subchapter may bring an action against the insurer regardless of whether the department has determined that there has been a violation of this subchapter.
