Terms Used In Indiana Code 36-7-30.2-1

  • Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
  • state area of interest: means an area comprised of land located:

   Sec. 1. This chapter applies only to a unit that exercises planning or zoning jurisdiction over land within a state area of interest.
