Terms Used In Alabama Code 11-88-45
- Amendment: A proposal to alter the text of a pending bill or other measure by striking out some of it, by inserting new language, or both. Before an amendment becomes part of the measure, thelegislature must agree to it.

- Rescission: The cancellation of budget authority previously provided by Congress. The Impoundment Control Act of 1974 specifies that the President may propose to Congress that funds be rescinded. If both Houses have not approved a rescission proposal (by passing legislation) within 45 days of continuous session, any funds being withheld must be made available for obligation.
The said resolution must be published once a week for two consecutive weeks in some newspaper published in each county in which any part of the improvements will be constructed and having general circulation therein. A copy of the said resolution shall also be sent by registered or certified mail, postage prepaid, to the persons last assessed for county taxation on the property which may be assessed for the said improvement at their last known addresses, the said notices to be so mailed not less than 10 days before the meeting of the board provided for in Section amendment, rescission, etc., of resolution by board; when unanimous vote of board required to approve resolution” class=”unlinked-ref” datatype=”S” sessionyear=”2020″ statecd=”AL” title=”11″>11-88-46. The failure of any official charged with the duty of sending such notice or the failure of any owners of property to receive such notice, if sent by registered or certified mail as provided in this section, shall not invalidate or in anywise affect any assessment made under the provisions of this article.
