An insurer shall not impose any additional requirements on any state agency which has been assigned the rights of an individual eligible for medical assistance under this chapter and covered for health benefits from the insurer that are different from requirements applicable to an agent or assignee of a covered individual.

- agency: Any state agency responsible for administering programs under Title IV-D or Title XIX of the Social Security Act. See Alabama Code 27-21B-2
- insurer: A health insurer, including a group health plan as defined in Section 607(1) of the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974, a health maintenance organization, or an entity offering a service benefit plan. See Alabama Code 27-21B-2
- state: The word "state," when applied to the different parts of the United States, includes the District of Columbia and the several territories of the United States. See Alabama Code 1-1-1
