  • action: includes any matter or proceeding in a court, civil or criminal. See Alaska Statutes 01.10.060
  • Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
  • municipality: means a political subdivision incorporated under the laws of the state that is a home rule or general law city, a home rule or general law borough, or a unified municipality. See Alaska Statutes 01.10.060

Whenever the corporation exercises its rights, powers, and duties under Alaska Stat. § 18.55.48018.55.960 in the area adjacent to a municipality, the governing body of the municipality may prepare or have prepared general plans for the physical development of the area if the preparation of those plans is not otherwise authorized by law and approve redevelopment plans, and lend or grant money and other assistance for the undertaking of redevelopment projects in the area and to take other action with respect to the area or redevelopment project area that is authorized or required by Alaska Stat. § 18.55.48018.55.960 of the governing body of the municipality.
